March 18 Update

FCC Family -

We have been looking to the CDC and listening to government officials for COVID-19 recommendations and precautions. We want to make sure that we are doing everything we can to help reduce the risks to our church family and community. For this reason, the building will be closed for the next several weeks. There will be an online service at 10:30a on Sunday, March 22, March 29 and April 5. (web and Facebook) We will reevaluate this closure each week and keep you posted.

During this uncertain and fearful time, it is important to remember that God is still in control. This is an opportunity for Christians to share the love and hope of Christ in new, different, and more powerful ways. Here are some ideas of what you can do – send cards/letters to those in nursing homes, homebound, the jail, your one life; support local small business; drop off a ‘smile gift’ at someone’s house and continue to pray for others. You get the idea – spread the love and hope of Christ wherever you go – even from home. Share your ideas on our Facebook page or here.

How can we support you? We want to stay connected to you and help you get through this isolation. If you are on Facebook, be sure to like our page and join the Care & Prayer group. You can use this to share any needs you may have (deliveries, homework help, childcare) and prayer requests. Our hope is that our church family will continue to care for one another, help each other, and build stronger relationships with each other and God. If you are not on Facebook, please send these needs, requests, praises here or call the office at 812.379.4491.

We are so very thankful to every one of you that gives to the ministries here at First Christian and we ask that you continue to be faithful in your giving. You can give online at here (click the make a donation button), text FCCOCGIVE to 77977 or mail your gifts to 531 5th St., Columbus, 47201. Thank you for your continued support.

Now is the time to get creative and come up with ways to meet with your groups – virtually. There are lots of ways that you can meet online – Zoom, Skype, Facetime, just to name a few. Do you need a study? Why not check out the digital library on RightNow Media? There are small group studies, individual studies, family studies, and even kids shows. If you do not have an account, you can text RightNowFCCColumbus to 41411 or here. We will also start an online study – Psalm 23 soon. We are working out all the details so be sure to look for updates with the date & time.

We are all in this together!

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,

and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
