Care Ministries

There are multiple ways that we care for each other at First Christian Church.

Below are some of the ways we can help you in your time of need.

"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared
for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink.
I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing.
I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.' Matthew 25:34-36

  • Stephen Ministry

First Christian Church recently became involved in Stephen Ministry. This one-to-one lay caregiving ministry is named for Stephen, one of the first seven laypeople called by the church to assist the apostles in caring for others. (You can read Stephen’s story in Acts 6 and 7.) Stephen Ministry is truly ministry—that is, service to others, caring for others in Jesus’ name, doing the work that God has both called and gifted his children to do. Do you feel a calling to care for others who are hurting? Do you desire the personal joy that comes from sharing Christ’s love with people?

In the next few months, our Stephen Ministry Leaders will recruit, interview, select and train some congregation members to serve as Stephen Ministers.
