Be a disciple...wait, a what? In Matthew 28, Jesus tells His followers to 'go and make disciples.' It's at the very core of our faith in Jesus yet as we often associate the Christian faith as attending church but it's so much more than that. A disciple is one who responds in faith and obedience to the call to follow Jesus. It's a lifelong process of continuing to move closer to Jesus each and every day. So how do we do that? For each of us, it's going to be a little different but at the core we believe there are three elements that move us closer to Jesus:

  1. Getting involved in a Biblical community like a small group.
  2. Practicing spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Bible study and fasting.
  3. Serving and using our spiritual gifts to build up the church and community.

There are lots of ways to get involved in each of those areas so we invite you to take the next step in your walk with Jesus and become a disciple. If you have any questions about any of those areas or you need help find a place to start, contact Tyler Tolbert, Outreach & Discipleship Minister.
