A Church Beyond Our Walls

Following Jesus leads us to look beyond ourselves. At First Christian, we believe God calls us to love our neighbors, serve our community, partner with others, and share the hope of Jesus—here in Columbus, Indiana, and around the world.

Whether we're meeting practical needs close to home, supporting ministry partners, or serving together on a mission trip, our desire is the same: to faithfully use what God has given us to help advance His Kingdom.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.

Serving Together

Putting Our Faith in Action

Serving others is one way we live out our faith at First Christian. Throughout the year, our church family comes together to meet practical needs, partner with community organizations, and share the love of Jesus—both close to home and around the world.

Whether it's preparing a meal, packing a shoebox, or participating in a community service project, there are meaningful ways for everyone to get involved.

Helping Hands Hot Meal Ministry

In partnership with Love Chapel, First Christian helps provide a hot meal for members of our community each Saturday. Volunteers prepare, serve, and share meals while offering hospitality and care to our neighbors.

Whether you enjoy cooking, serving, organizing, or simply welcoming others, Helping Hands is a practical way to serve our community together.

SERVE WITH HELPING HANDS

Serving Alongside Our Community

Throughout the year, First Christian also joins local organizations and community partners for special projects and events. These opportunities allow us to serve alongside others who care deeply about our community and respond to needs as they arise.

From neighborhood projects and collections to special days of service, these partnerships give our church family practical ways to love our neighbors and invest in Columbus.

Operation Christmas Child

Each year, First Christian participates in Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a ministry of Samaritan's Purse that uses gift-filled shoeboxes to share the Good News of Jesus with children around the world.

Our church family collects items, packs shoeboxes, and helps support the cost of sending these gifts around the world. National Collection Week is the third week of November.

Service & S'mores

Wednesday, Oct 14 | 5:30-8:00pm

Bring the family for an evening of serving our community together with a litter sweep and prayer walk! We'll finish the night back at FCC with a campfire and s'mores.

October Blanket & Pillow Drive

October 1-31

Throughout October, we are collecting pillows and blankets to support individuals and families served by Horizon House and Turning Point Shelter.

Mission Trips

Go & Serve

Mission trips give us the opportunity to step outside our everyday routines, serve alongside ministry partners, build relationships, and see what God is doing in other communities and cultures.
